FAQ

Where are you based?

I’m a photographer in North Yorkshire. My home base in Skipton between the Yorkshire Dales and Leeds. I am always happy to travel to your wedding or family photo shoot.

Should I book an engagement/pre-wedding photoshoot?

Yes! If you book my two popular wedding photography packages (Jade and Emerald) you get an engagement or pre-wedding photo shoot. I love this session. It allows us to get to know each other a little more and to help you to feel more relaxed in front of the camera. It gives you a good idea of the way I work so you know what to expect on your wedding day. This is a fun laid back complimentary session in a location of your choice in Yorkshire. Unfortunately an engagement session is not included with Mint package, but can be added on, which I would advise for a little practice time and some beautiful photos for you to keep.

Do I need to know how to pose?

While we will take some formal posed photographs, my style is to capture the day as it unfolds naturally. I take more of a documentary approach, which allows me to capture the real moments and follow the flow of the day without intrusion. I like to keep the posed photographs to a minimum, but if posed photography is your thing, then we can discuss this before the big day. Of course I direct and step in when it is necessary, like setting up the confetti photos. Your engagement photo shoot will really help you feel much less concerned with the idea of posing, I promise.

How important is a wedding photographer? And what am I actually getting for my money?

Your wedding is probably the most important day of your life. You've invested so much time and money into this day. Understandably you want good value for money.  Click here to see what is included

Long after the flowers have wilted and the last slice of cake has been enjoyed, you are only left with your wedding album and memories.  As a wedding photographer, I feel the importance of capturing the beautiful real moments for you to cherish forever. My job is to take photographs that make you look great, but I aim to do so much more than that. To show the raw emotions of the wedding day, and document the significance of every moment that takes place and communicate the story in visual form. I want you to look back at your album and relive the day all over again.

How many hours of wedding photography do I need?

I recommend 10 hours coverage to capture the full wedding day. This covers bride and groom preparation through to the first dance and the party. Every wedding is different and 10 hours photography may extend your day. In this case I do offer a smaller packages, which is suitable for short wedding days with a smaller guest list. Take a look at my wedding photography packages

Do I need a two photographers?

Your choice. A second photographer starts their day with the groom and then joins me and the bride at the ceremony. A second photographer provides a different prospective throughout the day.  If telling the story of the grooms morning is as important as the brides journey, than a 2nd shooter is for you. A 2nd photographer is strongly advisable for a larger wedding. A large wedding is considered more than 60 guests (book early for guarantee 2nd photographer)

How many photos do I get?

This depends on your day, but on average 600 when booking the full day wedding photography packages. This may seem a lot, but this includes all the little details and moments you missed while you're busy mingling. When a second photographer is added, you will receive many more images.

How and when do I get the photos?

After a few sneak peaks on my social media pages, I'm sure you will be eager to see them all. I work as fast as possible to individually tweak and polish each image before getting your photographs to you. This usually takes between 4-6 weeks. The whole collection will be accessible to you on a password protected gallery for you to download and share and on a USB with the Jade and Emerald package. You also have the option to buy prints via the gallery.

Can I get a wedding album?

Yes. There's something so special about seeing your photos in print. If you decide you would like an album after booking or even post wedding, just drop me a line. See wedding album details here

Can you travel to us?

Yes of course. If travel is beyond 10 miles from my home base in North Yorkshire Skipton, then I charge 45p per mile. This will be quoted to you before booking. If it’s abroad, travel expenses will need to be discussed.

Do you have insurance?

Yes including public liability insurance. All my kits is insured and I carry back ups just in case.

Do you require a deposit when booking?

Yes, to secure your wedding date, I require 20% of the total at the time of booking. This is non refundable but will be taken from your final balance.

Who can I bring to family photoshoot?

Anyone you like. I welcome newborns, children, large families, couples, pets,  just you....whoever you want involved. Every session is individual, but they're always fun. When extended family members are added, there is a small charge.

Could I book you for Christening photography?

Yes. Please contact me with details about your christening or any other event photography for a tailored price.

Do you make family photo albums?

What is the best age to book a photoshoot for my child?
