Meet Daisy & Josh – A Falcon Manor Wedding in Their Own Words

Falcon Manor Wedding Photography

When I first met Daisy and Josh at a Falcon Manor wedding showcase, I knew they'd be a joy to photograph. They were warm, easy to chat to and were looking for a photographer who could capture their wedding naturally, helping them feel completely relaxed in front of the camera.

Their Falcon Manor wedding was full of genuine moments, brilliant live entertainment, sunshine and so many laughs with family and friends. As a documentary wedding photographer, these are exactly the kinds of weddings I love to capture - real moments, real emotions and memories that tell the story of the day from beginning to end.

Rather than me telling you all about it, I thought I'd let Daisy and Josh share their story in their own words with a Q&A, while I share some of my favourite moments from their beautiful summer wedding at Falcon Manor.

Their Story

How did you meet?

We met through online dating, but our first date was at Loafers Coffee Shop.

Tell us about the proposal.

We'd gone on a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon in Cyprus and spent the day jumping off the boat, swimming in the sea and having an amazing time. On the way back to the harbour, we watched a beautiful sunset before heading to Molos Restaurant.

While we were sitting overlooking the harbour, Josh's sister and her partner said they were going to find the toilets. Josh asked if I minded if he went too.

When he came back, his shoelace was untied and said, "Oh, my knee's gone, will you help me up?" Then he looked at me and said, "While I'm down here... Daisy Louise Steele, will you marry me?"

The whole restaurant cheered, the manager brought us complimentary drinks, and when we got back to our villa Josh's mum and stepdad were waiting to celebrate with us. We also called my mum and dad to share the news.

Planning Their Falcon Manor Wedding

What venue did you choose and why?

Falcon Manor. As soon as we saw it, it just felt like the perfect place to celebrate with our friends and family.

Would you recommend your venue?

100%! Our day was perfect and we wish we could do it all again.

The Morning of the Wedding

The morning began with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere as everyone got ready. Despite the warm weather, there were plenty of laughs, excited chatter and those quiet moments before the ceremony.

I have to ask about the dress – where was it from?

I bought my dress from Brides to Be in Queensbury. I only tried on five dresses and it was the third one. Once the shoulder caps had been removed and the alterations were finished, it was absolutely perfect for me.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

As the ceremony drew closer, the nerves definitely started to kick in...

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?

Daisy: Nervous!

Josh: Excited, nervous, hot and sweaty!

They decided to have not one, but two confetti throws

Drinks, Sunshine & Celebrations

Once the ceremony was over, everyone had the chance to relax and enjoy the afternoon. It was the perfect opportunity to capture some natural moments with family and friends before stealing Daisy and Josh away for a few portraits around Falcon Manor.

How did you choose your photographer?

We met Gemma at a Falcon Manor showcase and it just felt right. She was so down to earth and made us feel comfortable straight away.

How did you feel being in front of the camera?

Gemma made us feel calm and relaxed, and our engagement shoot definitely helped with that too.

An Evening to Remember

As the day turned into evening, the celebrations really got going.

What was your favourite moment of the day?

The whole thing! We had a two-day takeover, but if we had to choose one moment it would be our saxophone entrance.

Did you have a colour scheme

We chose a navy and gold colour scheme with white flowers.

What were the best investments you made?

Our photographer, Photo Booth, singer, sax player and giant letters. Every single one was worth every penny.

What song did you choose for your first dance, and why?

"Sun to Me." We loved the lyrics and it was one of the shorter songs!

Looking back on the wedding day

Looking back on the day, I always like to ask couples if there's anything they'd do differently or any advice they'd pass on to future brides and grooms.

Was there anything you wish you'd known before planning your wedding?

Book your registrar and give notice to marry earlier! We ended up getting legally married in Skipton on the Thursday before our wedding, then had Katie as our celebrant on our actual wedding day.

Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?

Go with the flow and don't stress. It will all come together and be perfect.

Are there any suppliers you'd like to give a shout-out to?

All of our suppliers! They helped make our day exactly how we'd imagined.

A special mention to:

  • Gemma Suckley Photography

  • Karen at Bella's

  • Katie Flanagan

  • Sarah Widdup

  • Exceed Events for our DJ, sax player, Photo Booth and giant letters.

A huge congratulations once again to Daisy and Josh. Thank you for trusting me to capture such an incredible celebration. Wishing you both a lifetime of adventures together!
