A Relaxed Pre-Wedding Shoot at The Priests House, Barden Tower

Not Every Couple Loves Being in Front of the Camera

Not every couple dreams of a pre-wedding shoot filled with dramatic poses and romantic moments and that's exactly what I love about sessions like this.

When these two joined me at The Priests House, Barden Tower, they simply wanted to spend some time together before their wedding day, get comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. They also brought along their gorgeous dog, who was a little unsure to begin with. After a gentle start and a chance to explore, they soon relaxed and happily became part of the session.

One of the biggest misconceptions about engagement shoots is that you have to be super affectionate or know how to pose. The truth is, you don't. My sessions are relaxed, natural and all about capturing the real connection between you. Whether that's laughing together, chatting as we wander around or stopping for a cuddle with your dog, the best photographs come from simply being yourselves.

Why Have a Pre-Wedding Shoot?

A pre-wedding session is a great way to get to know each other before the wedding day. It gives you the chance to experience how I work, realise that being photographed isn't nearly as daunting as you might expect, and arrive on your wedding day feeling far more relaxed.

By the end of the session, most couples tell me how much easier it was than they imagined—and that's exactly the confidence I want you to take into your wedding.

Why I Love Photographing at The Priests House

I've photographed at The Priests House a number of times now, and one thing I always appreciate is how easy it is to create lots of variety without ever feeling like you're walking miles. Within a few minutes you can move from the historic stone walls to leafy pathways, open countryside and quieter corners that feel completely private.

It's one of those venues that suits my relaxed approach to photography. There are plenty of beautiful backdrops, but it's the space to slow down, chat and let genuine moments happen that makes it such a lovely place to photograph.

Their wedding highlights will be coming soon…
