Skipton Registry Office wedding Photography - Nathan and Nicky

Skipton wedding photography North Yorkshire

Nathan and Nicky’s celebrated their wedding on two separate days. Their wedding ceremony at Skipton registry office and their wedding reception at Carleton Social Club in North Yorkshire. Double celebration! They wasn’t being greedy, at the point of the wedding, party’s wasn’t allowed due to the big C, so they waited until restriction had relaxed. I found Nathan and Nick very grounded, sweet people and it was a honour to be their wedding photographer.

Here’s a little interview with Nicky along with some of my favourite moments from their wedding ceremony at Skipton Registry office and Carleton Social club in North Yorkshire.

Tell us about the proposal

Whilst we were on holiday on a Greek island, Nathan proposed during sunrise at our apartment balcony. We took a time-lapse video of the sunrise so we could look back at it in future. Though it was a bit odd for Nathan to explain why we were awake so early!

Was there anything you wish you’d known before ?

For the Bride, practice your walk down the aisle if you’re not used to heels and a dress!

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle/ waited for your bride?

For both of us, we were happy, nervous and excited at the same time - it’s not every day where you have all

your family together and all eyes are on both of you - the centre of attention! But as we saw each other,

everything and everyone else faded out of view - for us there was only us two in the room (and the

officials!)

What was the most important investments for you and why?

The Wedding dress as the bride has to stand out, and it’s a once in a life-time purchase.

The food and drink as it is crucial to any party

The wedding photography to capture the moment, so you can cherish them forever.

What wedding venue did you choose?

Carleton Social Club near Skipton, as it was rich in family history on the Groom’s side, and many of his family members have had celebrations there for the past 70 years. It meant a lot to have it there. The ceremony was at Skipton registry office.

Do you have any advice for couples in the planning stages?

Plan it together. And incorporate ideas from both sides - as that’s what life is about - sharing. Always remember that things may not go according to plan on the day - but those things don’t matter as it’s the person you’re marrying and the future life together to focus on. You don’t need to spend the earth to have a good time! Create a detailed itinerary for the day for the bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen so key members of the wedding know where to be and what to do at the right time!

What song did you choose for your first dance, and why?

Taylor Swift - Lover, as the lyrics really resonated with both of us, and the song was easy to have our first

dance to.

If you’re looking for a Skipton wedding photographer of getting married in a North Yorkshire wedding venue, I’d love to hear from you.

My full day wedding photography package starts at bridal preparation all the way through to the dancing and included an engagement photo shoot

Nicky and Nathan’s testimonial

Gemma was a fantastic part of our Pre-Wedding, Wedding, and Reception, producing fantastic photos that we will cherish forever. Despite the pandemic forcing us to re-arrange pretty much everything, Gemma was always communicative and flexible, and everything went perfect. Both my Wife and I hadn't been in a professional photo shoot before, but Gemma put us both at ease, and was great with our guests. We're so happy with her service, we even have gifted our Maid of Honour for a family photoshoot with Gemma as a thank you. We'll definitely be using Gemma in the future!
