Wedding Photography at the Falcon Manor in Settle
For a long time, Falcon Manor has been one of my favourite wedding venues. Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, it’s surrounded by rolling hills and countryside that give photographers breathtaking backdrops for outdoor shots. The Manor itself is just as stunning, with its Victorian stonework, grand windows, and period features that make every corner feel timeless.
One of the things I love most about Falcon Manor is its layout—each part of the wedding day flows seamlessly into different spaces, keeping the celebrations fresh and full of variety. On Amy and Jack’s day, the sunshine poured down, and the outdoor terrace became the perfect setting after their wedding ceremony. It was so perfect, in fact, that they chose to have their speeches there, overlooking the gorgeous landscape.
I began the morning with Amy, her mum, and her bridesmaids in the bridal suite. The room was alive with music, love, and laughter—an atmosphere that set the tone for the whole day.
Come take a look at the highlights wedding photos from Amy and Jack’s beautiful summer wedding at Falcon Manor. Amy and Jack also took part in a Q&A which I’ve included.
Highlight of the Falcon Manor wedding photography

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal?
We first met at a party at university 7 years ago. Jack had been away for a week and got home whilst I was out. When I got home I opened the door and he was down on one knee with the perfect ring! Before he even got to ask the question I had burst into tears and said ‘but I need a wee’ a line which has come to haunt me!

What venue did you choose and why did you choose it?
We chose Falcon Manor as we had driven past it a few times to get to the Yorkshire three peaks. When we started looking for a venue we both talked about that beautiful place we passed and had to go through the route on maps to find it. We went to the manor and were sold straight away, we just knew it was for us. It was the first and only venue we saw as we cancelled our other viewings for the following weeks.

What was the most important investments for you and why?
Flowers, for me it was all about the flowers, I wanted them to stand out against everything and really bring the vision together which they did, Jayne at Free Spirit Flowers really understood my vision and executed it fantastically.
How did you feel as you walked down the aisle/ waited for your bride?
Amy: When I was walking down the aisle I was just excited to see everyone, it was just pure happiness.
Jack: I was a bit nervous waiting for Amy bit when I saw her I relaxed and enjoyed the moment.

Tell us a little about the your wedding day plan.
The theme was ‘elegant, romantic and timeless’. I decided on olive green for the bridesmaids pretty quickly, even though it was a summer wedding I wanted a colour that would compliment all of them and that they would feel comfortable and confident in, then they chose their own styles as I wanted their own personalities to shine through. The decor was minimal, I like the ‘clean, minimalistic’ look with a bit of drama- this was bought from the outfits and the stunning flowers. The schedule had to work itself out as we managed to get the last ceremony slot for the day so we worked around that mainly. Then we set out a little plan of who needed to be ready when and who was doing what as we did our own makeup and my mum did hair.

I have to ask about the dress
I took my mum Steph, bridesmaid Keevy and mother in law Clare for a manic dress shopping day. We did three shops in one day and my dress was the last try of the day. I was so over trying on and didn’t even look in the mirror before showing them, before I’d seen it I knew it was something special from the reactions it got.

The Kilt?
Jack decided to wear a kilt after talking to his Granny, she made the suggestion, and in true Jack style he said, ‘Yeah sounds good’ and went from there.

Why did you choose your wedding photographer?
We chose Gemma as my mum had researched photographers for me, she said what drew her to Gemma was that she had a picture of herself on her social media and website and she loved the fun vibe. We sat and looked through Gemma's website together and decided that Gemma’s style was going to fit the vibe we wanted for the wedding.

What song did you choose for your first dance, and why?
We chose Clinton Kane, I GUESS IM IN LOVE. This was Jacks choice, I use to play the song a lot and Jack said it was the first time I showed him a song and he realised that he was going to marry me one day.

Do you have any advice for couples in the planning stages?
Ask for help, ask for all the help you need. I found that people wanted to be useful and were more than happy to give their time and work through any problems with me. Planning a wedding can be really stressful but having a good support system was vital as they took the little worries off my plate. I was lucky to have my mum step up into wedding planner/events organiser/event dresser, I would not have been able to plan this wedding without her.
