Ilkley Moor Pre-Wedding Shoot with Their Puppy

Ilkley Moor Pre-wedding photos at golden hour

As Pride Month begins, it feels like the perfect time to share this beautiful pre-wedding session on Ilkley Moor. Ahead of their wedding at the Chevin Country Park Hotel in Otley, Rachel & Dagmara brought their puppy along for a relaxed golden-hour shoot, making the most of Yorkshire's stunning location on the moors.

From the moment we met, it was clear this was going to be a fun and relaxed evening. Their puppy was determined to be involved in every part of the shoot, whether that was leading the way across the moor, stopping for cuddles or occasionally stealing the attention from his humans. I absolutely love it when dogs join engagement and pre-wedding shoots. They bring so much personality to a session, help couples relax and often create some of the most genuine moments. This little one certainly kept us entertained as we explored the moor together.

Why Choose Ilkley Moor for Your Pre-Wedding Photography?

For couples looking for a Yorkshire location that offers stunning scenery, Ilkley Moor is hard to beat. The open landscapes provide a beautiful backdrop throughout the year, while the ever-changing light means no two sessions ever look quite the same. Golden hour is always my favourite time to photograph here. The soft light is romantic and perfect for creating natural images that feel timeless rather than overly posed. The moor land made sense also to link to the moorland surrounding their wedding venue at Otley Chevin Hotel.

Looking Ahead to Their Chevin Country Park Hotel Wedding

With their wedding at the Chevin Country Park Hotel just around the corner, this pre-wedding session felt like the perfect way to celebrate this exciting stage of their journey together. A pre-wedding photo shoot also helps couples feel more comfortable in front of the camera, making it much easier to relax and enjoy having their photographs taken when their wedding day arrives.

Pride Month also feels like a lovely opportunity to celebrate the diversity of the couples I have the privilege of photographing. Every relationship has its own story, and I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, welcomed and celebrated in front of the camera. Creating a welcoming experience for all couples, including same-sex couples, is something that's important to me, and this session was a wonderful reminder of why I love what I do
