Ilkley Moor Engagement Photos
Matt and Becky chose Ilkley Moor for their engagement shoot because of the incredible views across the Yorkshire countryside. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer, it’s one of my favourite locations for relaxed, natural engagement photos, especially during golden hour when the light across the moor is absolutely beautiful. It’s a bonus for sunset photography too. We started around Cow and Calf Rocks which make a stunning backdrop for engagement photos.
The wide open landscape, dramatic rock formations and big skies make Ilkley Moor a perfect setting for couples who want natural, adventurous engagement photos.
Matt and Becky actually met at work and their story makes me smile. Matt asked Becky out during a meeting, which is definitely one of the more memorable ways to start a relationship!
Their proposal took place at the top of Pen-y-Ghent, one of the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks. With such an incredible backdrop and views across the Yorkshire Dales, it must have been a pretty special moment.
Their wedding will be taking place at the lovely The Gamekeeper’s Inn, where they’re planning a relaxed celebration surrounded by friends and family. Their vision for the day is simple lots of fun, plenty of giggles, and a dance floor that stays busy all evening.
Engagement photo shoots are always a great opportunity for couples to relax in front of the camera before the wedding day, and Ilkley Moor provided the perfect setting for Matt and Becky to enjoy some time together while we captured some beautiful natural moments. We were really lucky with the weather on the evening of the shoot. The wind across Ilkley Moor can sometimes be quite cold, but that evening the light was soft and golden as the sun began to set over the hills. Matt and Becky were completely relaxed and just enjoyed the walk across the moor while we captured some natural moments together
