Priests House Wedding Photographer - Anita & Sarah

Priests House & Old Chapel Wedding Photography

I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Sarah & Anita’s beautifully authentic wedding at the Priests House. It was so lovely getting to know them during their engagement photoshoot, so I had really been looking forward to their big day. What I love about these two, is they are unapologetically themselves and so comfortable together. This was so evident during their wedding day and how the day seemed to wrap around them. I’m over the moon I was able to reflect all this is their photos.

I began the day with Sarah and her bridesmaids in the charming little village of Draughton. The morning was wonderfully relaxed and full of laughter. Sarah’s bridesmaids had thoughtfully surprised her by booking professional hair and makeup artists, which completely took away all the pressure and stress that Sarah might have otherwise felt doing this herself.

Bridal preparation seemed to pass in the blink of an eye and before we knew it, the time had come for Sarah to be whisked away to the Priests House at Barden, ready for the next beautiful chapter of the day.

Priests House and Old Chapel Wedding

I absolutely love weddings at the Priests House so much. It really is such a stunning and charming wedding venue. If you are looking for a beautiful country wedding, North Yorkshire wedding venues are very likely to tick that box with ease. The Priests House doesn’t just offer breathtaking views and exceptional grounds; it also boasts a spectacular medieval fortified tower - Barden Tower, adding a unique historic touch. This historic Old Chapel provides the most gorgeous and romantic setting for a wedding ceremony. The ceiling-length windows fill the room with natural light, (which we photographers truly appreciate) And I have to mention the staff, they are so accommodating and welcoming.

The Wedding Ceremony at the Priests House

The staff worked their magic to make sure that Anita and Sarah didn’t catch a glimpse of each other before the ceremony. I wanted to sneak in a cheeky snap of both bridal parties from my unique viewpoint, all while Anita was safely tucked away, completely out of sight from Sarah’s perspective as she gracefully approached the Old Chapel for their beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. Often, I get to witness those precious moments that no one else gets the chance to see, and it truly feels like an incredible privilege to be able to capture these intimate, genuine, and deeply meaningful memories for them to treasure forever.

Wedding photography at the Priests House and Barden Tower

The opportunities for wedding photography at the Priests House are endless. Usually I’m very conscious of taking newly-weds away from the wedding festivities for too long. We allowed a good little section to walk around Barden Tower and for Anita and Sarah to have a little time to themselves. I’m so glad they were happy to take this time away as they looks so happy and gorgeous together. These moments deserved to be capture and a frame putting around them.

After enjoying some fun and lively photos, it was then time to gather for a quick yet heartfelt and sincere speech from Anita followed by the wedding breakfast and the party!!

Sarah and Anita said, they just wanted their photos to capture everyone smiling and having a good time.
